Walking - sort of...
I would like for the whole world to know that my little boy attempted his first few steps yesterday, March 2, 2010. We were sitting at dinnner, just finishing up, and Soren was wheeling around the kitchen playing (he had already eaten). He came over to pull up on my leg, begging me to hold him so he could turn the light switch on and off, but after a few 'just a minutes' from me he got bored. He looked over at his daddy and just started moving toward him without holding on to anything. I wouldn't say he put any miles in, but he was balancing and inching. We were so exciting and looked at each other and said 'did you see that?'. He let go of the furniture a couple more times during the evening, but really hasn't done much since - but that is his MO - he will do something profound and then not do it again for a while - sort of like the first time he laughed. We practically stood on our heads making funny faces to get him to laugh just one more time, but no, we would just have to wait until he was good and ready (now he laughs nonstop). I think he is sending us an early message on how things are going to go in the years ahead. I must brace myself!
