After several weekends of rainy and gloomy weather, God blessed us with a wonderful weekend - so appreciated! After work on Friday we took a trip to the Columbus Park of Roses (the site of where we said our "I dos"). We had so much fun. The garden was LOADED with roses. Soren spotted the fountain and managed his way through the maze of roses to find it - he did a really good job. Needless to say we spent most of our time there. Even though he couldn't touch the water he still loved being by it.
Saturday we contemplated going to the Farmers' Market again, but at the last minute decided against it because Soren has an appointment for his THIRD haircut in less than hour....so we went to the playground. Zane found a new playground near our house that we feel is a lot safer than the previous one - it is fenced in, has more rails/guards on the equipment, and more slides for Soren to go down. Plus it is pretty shaded and has a nice swing for parents to sit on with their kids. Lots of fun.
We decided to get a shorter haircut for Butters this time so he will be a little cooler. He has such thick hair - I guess that makes sense - Zane and I both have really thick hair! The haircut experience for the most part went a little better than the past two, but there were still LOTS of tears. Everything went pretty well with the scissor part, but once the lady brought out the buzzers it was all down hill - mostly because she nicked his ear a little. It bleed a little, but with some pressure and an antiseptic wipe we were good to go.
After the morning nap and lunch, we ventured out to Whole Foods - we haven't been there in months. Lots of fun. Soren got a banana nut muffin and loved it. I had to hide the bag or he would have eaten the entire thing himself.
Home again home again. We all got GREAT naps today and spent a pleasant evening together. What a great weekend. Hoping for a blessed day tomorrow for Father's Day. We are going to Buckeye Lake to see Zane's family. I really can't believe that we are celebrating our second Father's Day already - the time goes so fast! I am so proud of my husband. He is a fabulous father - Soren is so lucky to have him!
