This has been a great weekend.
Friday I got great news about my friends baby boy - great progress. Still praying. Spent the evening hanging out with the family - dinner, bath for Soren, and early to bed - yea!
Saturday we headed out to the farmer's market early to try and beat the heat - that didn't really work out - we were sweating like pigs (do pigs really sweat that much?). After the farmer's market we strolled over to the library and welcomed the WONDERFUL air conditioned atmosphere. I am really starting to appreciate air conditioned more, but more than that, I am loving giant shade trees even more - is that possible. At the library Daddy scanned the art anatomy books to prepare for his classes this fall (did I mention that he will be working at CCAD this fall) and Soren and I headed over the children's wonderland. I love the children's area at this library - it is designed to look like an enchanted forest, it really captivates the little ones. Soren spent about 30 minutes run all over the place with about 8-10 other little people. It was fun hanging out with so many kids and believe it or not I did manage to find a couple of books to check out for Soren - more fun reading times in store for us! I love introducing him to new books.
After our hot morning excursion we headed over to Chick-fil-A for lunch (carry out though). Soren has been really picky with food lately so we made him something we knew he would eat and then we offered him a few chicken nuggets - he liked them this time! Go figure - I guess you really have to keep the "try and try again" rule in mind. After lunch, it was naptime for all.
Saturday evening our friends, Matt and Abby, watched Soren while the hubster and I went out to celebrate our anniversary (a little late this year, but exciting nonetheless). We had a very nice dinner at the Worthington Inn - we have been eyeing this restaurant for the past few years and decided to give it a go. It was so nice to go out and just spend time together and it was nice to know that your precious babe was in good hands.
Sunday was church, but not before blueberry pancakes and eggs. After church, we had a hodgepodge of lunch and then Soren took his afternoon nap. Daddy and I took the opportunity to inspect the bee hive. I usually check it by myself, but this time I had to lift one of the hive boxes and it was too heavy to do alone. Again, we were sweating like pigs, dripping sweat, but it was good to find the queen and see tons of honey. The rest of the afternoon and evening we spent trying to conquer our drooping eyes and I think we did - barely.
That sums up the weekend. Lots of family time and good moods. I am taking vacation in about a week and half and I really would not mind if the whole vacation was like this weekend. We will see!
Good night.
