Well, I lost the battle yesterday and left work at 2:00pm. It was a great decision. The weather here is AWESOME. After playing with Soren for a little bit it was naptime. There is nothing I love more than this quiet time together. We just stare at each other for a while as I rock and he slowly closes his eye lids and enters the land of sleep. Once I am convinced he is really asleep I carry him to his bed and gently lay him down. He is so peaceful and happy.
Yesterday we scored a 3 hour nap (that doesn't happen all too often) so Zane and I decided that we should take a peek at the bees and see how they are fairing. We didn't do an intense inspection, but just enough to see if things looked right. We looked for the queen, but didn't find her, but we did see larvae so that is sign she is alive and well. I can't believe how much honey is in there.I would love to take a small portion of it, but I really want them to have a good chance during the winter so they get to keep it all - it is rightfully theirs.
After the bees we watched a movie and just enjoyed being together. It was really nice considering we didn't get to see each other much this week since Zane started teaching. I don't really do well with change sometimes and by Friday I was already getting bent out of shape because of the schedule. Good growing pains though. At 6:00pm we decided to wake Soren up. I hate doing this, but he had already been asleep for over three hours and we wanted to make sure he would sleep in the evening and we getting really hungry.
Because the weather was oh so very nice we called in an order of chinese food, picked it up, and headed to a near by park that we like to frequent. It was Great! Soren sat next to me at the picnic table and ate his food. We played after dinner, checked out the geese, and the water, and the flowers. The best part of the evening though was Soren held my hand as we walked across the gravel parking lot to see the geese - this made my heart melt all over the place. We all had such a great time. I wanted to drive around a bit, but it was bath night and Soren really needed it after playing so hard outside. Bath time is lots of fun too.
Saturday morning I was all prepared to make homemade oatmeal, but right after I woke up, Zane met me at the top of the stair and said "Get ready, I need pancakes". So we got ready and were out the door by 9:00am. After breakfast we were suppose to go to a new farmer's market (after all it is Saturday), but we drove by and the market consisted of 4 tables so we kept driving. It would have taken longer to get the stroller out of the car then it was have to walk through the market. Bonus to missing the market though was we stopped at yard sale in a ritzy neighborhood and scored a couple of good things. Next we ventured through a few more neighborhoods and then landed at a park in Upper Arlington. This was a lot of fun because we had never been there before. Here are a few pictures of us.
Our view into the clouds.
After the park it was lunch time and then nap for Soren. Zane and I spent the afternoon nap starting the first part of making plum and port wine jelly (part 2 wil be on Sunday). The rest of the day was wonderful. Relaxing anf fun!
