Milestones A'Plenty

Wow, are we on a kick or what - or should say Soren is on a kick!

Last week we started weaning my Butter Bean off his bottle (please don't judge) and yesterday was the last day for the morning bottle. Surprisely, it has gone very well. We thought it was going to involve lots of meltdowns and a endless count of the word "no", but not so much.

But like all good things, there are challenges. Soren is drinking his milk now from a sippy cup, but we don't get the instant gratification of knowing that he consumed 6-7 ounces each time. It is more like a trickle, when he feels like it kind of thing. But if he is drinking it and we can still monitor how much he gets over a day then we will be happy with that!

Next - Soren had his first Flinestone vitamin today. For the past 25 months, Soren got Poly-Visol vitamins in his milk (breast, formula, or cow's milk), but today was a big day - he got the big boy vitamin. He has been excited about taking a vitamin for a while - he talks about them all the time because he sees Mommy and Daddy taking one, but it was his turn today. Daddy gave him one, he looked at, popped it in his mouth, decided to chew slowly (the crunches were so cute), and then.....asked for more. "Only one a day" we told him. I am anxious to see how he does tomorrow.

One more - potty learning. Soren has been very excited about going potty on the potty - the little guy potty that is. He will sit there for about 10 minutes and play with his letters and talk, and talk, and talk. Mommy is learning this potty thing too. I didn't know that you kind of need to hold down his business a little when he goes or it will get all over the floor (even with the shield up). I am also learning that boys don't really need to wipe after all (most of the time). I am learning that boys really really really really really like to take their time in the bathroom - what treasure these learning curves are!

That is all for now - slow down why don't you little man! Hoping to post some darling pics soon.
