Our weekend was awesome.
Friday we spent some time with some of our darling friends that we haven't seen in a while. We shared a fresh pot of corn chowder made by my hubs and a loaf of banana chocolate chip walnut bread. Soren played with one of his bestest friends and hopefully is in the process of making friends with their new baby. It was so nice just to hang out and have a good time doing nothing in particular.
Saturday was a little busier. We decided to skip the gym and went to the Clintonville Farmers Market. I had to get a couple new bee supply items and it was nice to look around, but, boy, was it H.O.T. Before heading home, we went to pick strawberries. We were going to go the previous weekend, but it was too wet. I was going to go in spite of the rain, but the hubs talked me into saving the experience for the next weekend. He forgot our strawberry picking excursion was set for this weekend so I was quick to remind him. I love the strawberry farm. Like I just said, it was H.O.T., but we were determined. We picked a heaping 4 quart basket of strawberries. Soren had a blast running around between the rows of berries, getting very, very dirty, and eating a strawberry or two, or five, or ten! Before we left I got a strawberry slushy and 3 absolutely delicious donuts plus the berries. It was bliss! After making our sweet, yummy purchases, we loaded our sweating, hot selves into the car and headed home for lunch.
We enjoyed a picnic lunch with sandwiches made by Daddy. There is just something about it - a sandwich ALWAYS tastes better when someone else makes it. After lunch we played for while, Soren had a bath, and we all enjoyed delightful naps. We finished our evening with a breakfast dinner and trip to Target and Lowes. I swear, Target absolutely sucks the livin' daylight out of your wallet. Sunday started out with an extra sleepy little one so that means everyone got to sleep in - YEA!!! We went to the grocery and enjoyed 10% off our bill with a handy coupon (those are always so nice), a Happy Father's Day lunch out with Daddy, and an afternoon nap.
Sunday evening we went to the annual outdoor water baptism with our church. This year the baptism was held at our pastor's house. It was so nice to see so many people participating in this special event. We had great food and Soren loved running, playing in a giant pile of pebbles, splashing in the pond, and visiting with friends. We tried to get him to go in the pond, but he was not interested. Needless to say though, it was bath time again, and dinner time. Soren doesn't eat very well when we are busy environments. There is just too much to see and do.
I hope your weekend was as fun as ours.
