This weekend was a busy one. Friday night, we ate pizza, the hubby got a long awaited haircut, Soren and I colored eggs for greek Easter, and the after Soren was comfy cozy in his bed, the hubs and I managed to watch a movie and relax....before the storm.
Saturday we were up and at'em early - even before little bit was up. I cleaned a little and Zane started packing for day. Soren got up a little after 8 so I gave him a quick scrub in the tub, had breakfast, finished getting ready and we were out the door by 9:45am - AMAZING. We knew it was going to be a big day so we swung through Starbucks (everyone and their brother was there) and got a nice roasted beverage for us and an itty bitty chocolate donut for Soren. I gave a quarter of the donut to Soren and within 10 seconds he gave it back to me and said he didn't like it! "I don't like chocolate cake, Mommy!" Whoa - is this my child?
Within an hour after getting to my father-in-law's, we had lunch and had to start going through stuff with him before we started making the big meal. Since my mother-in-law passed away a few months ago, we really haven't been able to do anything to help my FIL so this was a good opportunity (many more opportunities will greet us soon).
By 4:45pm, the family was arriving and Zane and I were bushed. Nap, please! Not a chance. We didn't leave until 9:30pm and Soren was passed out in the car by 10:15pm. Soren does not fall asleep in the car easily so we don't have a lot of experiencing carrying around a 33lb human at dead weight. He was so sacked out that he didn't even wake up when I put on his jammies. Mommy skills!!
Sunday morning we were still exhausted and eager to have a low key day as much as possible so what did we do? We painted. We are in the process of painting every room (among many other things) in our new house and Soren's room was next on the list. I am so excited!! His room was a little more challenging than the others because we had a lot of measuring and taping to do. We are putting three colors in there so it involves more than a roller, a brush and some paint. I am not going to give too many details here until it is all done - sorry Charlie.
**My Mom has been a real blessing in this area. She has painted our dining room and is working on the living room which is not small feat. Thanks, Mom!!
It is now Monday and I think I am recovered. Now I just need to high-tail it to bed so I can go to work tomorrow.
