Busy Weekend

This weekend was non-stop.

Friday evening my father-in-law joined us for dinner. 2/3 into the dinner making process the electricity went out. We thought some fuse might have blown in our house, but it was the whole neighborhood. While dinner was not what we had hoped, we did get to chat with new neighbors. As soon as we were done eating, thankfully the power came back on. We went for ice cream to celebrate! I topped my evening off by cleaning all three bathrooms and doing laundry. Since we moved to a bigger place I am a little intimidated by all the cleaning so I am breaking it into smaller pieces rather than doing it all in one day.

Saturday, the hubby was off for a well-deserved "man" weekend and Soren and I were off to a FULL day of activities. We started with a trip to a farmer's market. I had to get a new hive body for my bee hive, but unfortunately, when we got there my dealer had a medical issue and the hive body was not going to happen. We will try next weekend. Soren and I strolled around the market, made a pit stop for a lemonade, and took a sneak peak at the fire truck down the street. Next we drove to his haircut appointment and then headed to the strawberry farm. If you have been reading my blog for a while, I am sure you know that fruit and veggie picking farms are one of my favorite things to do. We both had a great time. Before we left we snagged a strawberry ice drink and a few homemade donuts for later on top of all the delicious strawberries - Y. U. M. Next was lunch and then a couple errands to drop some things off at Goodwill and get the car washed. Soren was wiped out when we got home. I was too, but couldn't manage to stop myself. I kept going with cleaning and organizing. The rest of our evening was low key, especially since Momma didn't get a nap too.

Sunday I made breakfast. The usual - pancakes, sausage, but this time we had a yummy strawberries too. We enjoyed our breakfast on the veranda, darling!! Immediately after breakfast, Soren bolted for the yard and we had an impromptu hose party. I watered the flowers and Soren got frequently, but eagerly sprayed by the hose.  Next, it was bath time and then church followed by lunch at home and then nap. The rest of the day was low key. I worked in the yard, harvested 3 jars of honey and went for a short run. It stinks trying to get back into something when you were doing so good before you stopped. Oh well!

Hope your weekend was grand.
