This Christmas has been amazing and it is only Christmas Eve. Watching my little boy's excitement grow each day as Jesus' birthday gets closer is beyond words. While we are having fun with Santa and all that entails, my little guy has talked about Jesus' birthday for weeks.
Soren's understanding of the fact that Christmas is about Jesus is the only present I need and the present that I have received. Not only has he talked about Jesus at home and at school, he is talking about it on the playground too. The other day, my husband said the Soren was playing was some other little boys at the playground and they were going on and on about batman and some other superhero and Soren says, "...and in December we are going to celebrate Jesus' birthday". I love his heart and his inhibition.
In addition to celebrating our King, Soren is also excited about the big guy coming down the chimney, or should I say, out of the fire. I was explaining to him late last week that Santa was coming soon and how after we all go to sleep that he was going to shimmy down the chimney with a present just for him and eat the delicious cookies and milk that we leave him. His eyes were lit up in amazement. The rest of the week he kept talking about how Santa was going to come out the fire and bring presents. While we still need to get some of the finer details of the story, I think he is doing just fine.
