Okay, so today, actually just an hour or two ago, I think was the first time I really started to lose my patience with Mr. B. This weekend he has been very whiny because he has a cold and is getting 3 teeth, yes, I said 3 teeth, and one of those includes his first molar (double whammy). While I know his whiny state is not really his fault it is really starting to put us over the edge.
But to get on to why I am losing my patience... we went to breakfast at 10:00am (that is when we finally managed to get ourselves together enough without scaring the world) and when we got to the restaurant they told us it would be 35-40 minute wait - we should have left then and went home to eat our bowl of Cheerios, but instead we were like "we can do this, it is only 35-40 minutes", but Soren was not happy (oh, I forgot to mention that we left the stroller in the car - dumb I know) so I carried him around the entire time. When our name finally got called we order as quickly as we could, but Soren Christian was still not happy. He played with his toys for about 5 seconds and then threw them on the ground (note: I will be glad when he grows out of the throwing stage) and then we, as any respectful parent would do, picked them up and gave them back to him (we do have a two-three time limit though). Our food came and Soren ate a few bites of my carrot cake pancake - yum - and few bites of turkey sausage and then he was done (he ate before we left). We scarfed down our food, got a to-go box, paid the bill, and we were out of there.
According to Zane this breakfast excursion should be noted as the worst baby outing yet. Unfortunately, I am sure there will be more in the future, but until then I am holding out for better times.
I think I will be spending the rest of my day drowning my sorrows in house cleaning and getting a new car battery - yes, mine went bye-bye yesterday.
To better times (hopefully to come this afternoon).
I feel your pain! I have had my fair share of baby baby outings! Things are starting to get better now that my youngest is nearing the 2 year mark.
ReplyDeleteOne of the worst baby outings I've ever had was when we were supposed to get pictures taken for our church directory. My son, Kyle, was 3,days old. I was still recovering from the birth and was exhausted and sore. My 16 1/2 month old daughter Megan was getting used to the having a baby brother. The picture is a memory of the event for sure. Tom and I had our pasted smiles on, Kyle was SCREAMING his little head off and beat red, and Megan looked scared for her very live and had big tears running down her face. It was NOT good. I will never try to do something like that 3 days after birth again! LOL!
