It is hard to believe that Soren is going to his 18-month appointment today (keep in mind that he is only 17 months - let's not rush things - this is the only time I could get the appointment scheduled). A year ago, 18 months seemed so grown up and I was dreading this age because it would mean that my little bit was a toddler and not a tiny baby that I could cuddle in my arms anytime I wanted. Now I have to wait until he is in the mood which is not very often because his schedule is so busy - busy in the way that he has a million things to explore.
I am looking forward to seeing how much he weighs and his height as usual. I am also interested to see what the doctor has to say about discipline - is he too little for time outs? Will he understand? There has got to be some way to communicate that standing on the edge of the couch or pushing your feet against the table could very well result in an owie and some really freaked out parents. Oh, the adventure.
