Soren wasn't really interested in eating today even though he clearly said the word "eat" to Daddy. So at dinner we weren't really sure what he would be interested in, but here comes the surprise. Soren WANTED my chicken! I gave him several pieces and he enjoyed them all. And then...and then...he ate about 4 pieces of green beans on his own with his own fork! This was a huge thing for us. All the books kept saying to offer your little one the foods he isn't interested in, but should eat, over and over again. Well, we have, but he never showed interest on his own until TONIGHT. Who knows how long it will last, but it gave us a LOT of encouragement and we will keep trying over and over again!
After our big dinner hoorah, we decided to get together with our friends, Jason and Erica, for an after dinner treat (cookies and decaf) at Northstar. Soren was an absolute ham. He was pulling out all his tricks and being ever so cute. Makes me wonder if he is entering a new phase - the phase where he is all about getting attention and what better way to do it than being extremely adorable!
Needless to say, Soren got to bed a little late from our outing, but it was worth it. Now time to watch a little Bourne Identity and then head to bed. Big day tomorrow in Zanesville for Grandpa Pete's birthday.
