Hey, Long Time No Blog

The shame, the horror...I have not blog in nearly a week! Sorry about that.

So about the vacation...well, unfortunately, it is over, but it was fun while it lasted. So you know what I did on Wednesday...on Thursday Soren and I got up and ready for the big day at my sister's house. We not only enjoyed seeing the fam, but also the chickens and the swimming pool. It was so nice to spend most of the day outside and just chill. We did make a quick pit stop at Target to get my nieces very belated birthday gifts, but actually, I think they really enjoyed the surprise. The oldest gal got a very cool and ever so soft lady bug bean bag and the little bit got a very very very adorable owl and squirrel lamp. I know, the lamp sounds little weird, but there was only one lady bug bean bag left and she didn't really want anything else. I think she will really like it more once her bedroom is all put together. Soren, well, it wasn't his birthday, but he still got a t-shirt and a cool picture for his room - now where to put it?? After dinner and quick wagon ride, we made our trek home.

Let me tell you about our trek home. Soren was his jolly self and I was just humming along until I looked in the back window and what did I see - a GIANT wasp-like thing. I pulled over at the nearest and safest spot and made every effort to rid the car of this flying insect that was posing an evil threat to my little one. Woe to me though, my efforts were fruitless. At this point I thought the insect either flew out or was stuck in some crevice of the back window so I was back on the road again. 5 minutes later it was back. Soren was pointing at the window making his little noise and when I looked back the stinkin' bug was hanging out on his car window. I immediately rolled down his window, but it didn't work. My next stop - my Dad's house. I was starting to get dark and I didn't want this thing flying around the car on the long drive home. My Dad and I looked and looked and looked, but could not find the stupid thing. After about 15 minutes of staking out the back window we gave up. By now it was after 9:00pm and we still had more than hour's drive to get back home. Oh well. Lots of prayers.

By 10:15pm and few detours (darn construction) we were finally nearly the house and Soren was fast asleep. All the playing wiped the little guy completely out!

Friday was much slower. I visited a good friend, went to a doctor's appointment, got a few things done around the house, ran a few errands, but that is about it.

Saturday I insisted on checking out a new Farmer's Market, but I was a little disappointed. I know it is summer and all, but almost all the farmer's were selling the same thing - tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini. What about all the other veggies? Oh well.

Sunday was church and more relaxing. I started to feel a little sad about having to go back to work the next day, but at the same I was just glad to have the opportunity to get some time off and still get paid!

Well, that about sums it up. Looking forward to another staycation, but next time with a little more planning.
