Wouldn't you know it, my hormones would rev up the first day of my vacation - BOO! Despite the hormonies, we had an overall good day and that got better with each passing hour.
This morning we ventured down to the Short North to try a new breakfast joint. Thankfully for us we live in a restaurant-centered city so it is easy to find a new place to try. This morning's pick was Tasi Cafe. Zane had a frittata with yummy sausage and potato with mesculin salad. Mommy enjoy cinnamon challuah french toast with banana frangelica syrup and a side of bacon. Soren enjoyed a taste from each plate, but surprisingly was quite interested in the bacon. It was very nice, kid friendly, and we didn't have to pay for parking.
After our tummies were full we went back home so Soren could take a nap and that is when my hormones really started to rev. To help mellow myself out I decided to clean while Soren was sleeping - this helped and I got something done - BONUS. Later in the day we did our weekly pick up of fruit from the local CSA, hit up Lowe's and Trader Joe's for a few items, and back home again for another nap - for Mommy and Soren this time. This was wonderful and good for the soul.
Daddy made yummy Lentil Soup for dinner - perfect for the dreary weather. And then Soren and I enjoyed a good game of hide and seek while Daddy worked until it was time to go to bed. After Soren went to sleep I had this feeling like I should be doing something profound while I have this time off, but nothing came to mind, well at least, nothing that could be done without having given it a lot of forethought prior to my vacation starting. So I decided, hey, this is suppose to be VACATION. I am suppose to do ANYTHING I want even if that is sitting on the couch watching a movie and drinking a cup of coffee. I told myself, "Go ahead - you deserve it". So that is what I am doing, I am watching "The Holiday" and sipping a cup of Joe.
