Bumps and Kisses

It is Thursday night, that means 4 days since I wrote on my blog - the shame, the shame. Well, there is a reason - this week has been busy and I don't think I have been this tired since I was pregnant (no, I am not pregnant). We are still adapting to our new schedule, and to make it more fun, I had an extra day of "going at it alone", but it's all good. We made it!

So for the Bumps - Soren has really decided to dig his heals in this week and protest eating. Sometimes I think he is trying to give new meaning to the phrase, "you eat like a bird". Consumption of breakfast has either been nearly none existent or doesn't happen until an hour or so after when it should normally happen - this is really throwing the schedule off for the hubs. Lunch has been hit or miss and dinner, not terribly bad. I have to say I have really boned up on my story telling skills, song writing, and food making. I have made up so many crazy tunes it is ridiculous, but I sort of like it and so does Soren.

For the kisses - with the bumps comes the glory (well, at least this week). As I sing and tell funny stories sometimes I get kisses, that is if I say the word "kiss" enough and make smoochie lips. So standing on my head to help Soren get through dinner definitely has had it rewards.

I am sure this is just a phase (Lord, I sure pray it is), but it does have me quite concerned - concerned enough that I called the peditrician's office today to make sure things were going to be okay. I think I still associate the dangers of Soren not eating with the days right after he was born and lost more than 10% of his body weight. I was so scared. I worry about him losing weight and having to be go to the hospital and be put on a feeding tube. I know, this is a little nuts, but I am Mom so what do you expect. I just want to keep my son healthy despite his little phase. I am praying for patience, praying that Soren will once again eat like a normal little being, and praying that I remember to take things in stride.

A preview to the weekend - we are planning on going out to the Lynd Fruit Farm for some yummy apple picking, family fun, and hopefully some great pictures. I love fall, but I am going to miss summer.

Good night.
