The past several months have been challenging to say the least in area of exercise. Yah, we take walks often and get outside a lot, but nothing is done too physical, not enough to get our heart rates up. A few weeks ago one of our friends mentioned that their gym offered child care for a maximum of two hours - more than enough time to get in a good workout. So we decided to check out the gym we like, and what do you know, they have child care. I made a few phone calls and asked a lot of questions to make sure if was safe and healthy for Soren. Tonight we went for a visit to make sure everything was legit and it was. Basically, it is about 7 women (grandmas and retired nurses) that run the facility. All are CPR certified, have gone through background checks, and the facility has strict rules on what is allowed and what is not to ensure the safety of each child. Not to mention the room is very clean and there a lot of fun toys to be played with! Soren played for a while and really wanted to say longer - good sign. We are going to do a few trial runs. Some with us there and some with us gone. If all goes well, we will be renewed members to the gym.
Maintaining healthy bodies as parents has really been important to me. I really want to be active and healthy for my husband and my children. There is too much that life has to offer and I don't want to miss out on it by being sick. Plus, I will feel better about myself and therefore be happier person for my family. I pray that I can maintain a good schedule and stay motivated!
(Bonus features: incredible swimming pool with a giant slide, kid play areas, family nights, lots of work out equipment, and special classes).
