I got home a little early today from a conference I had - I love those days especially when I get to start my weekend a little after 3 on a Thursday. Butters and Daddy were asleep hen I got home so I changed into my comfy pants, did some laundry, and made a coffee cake with....squash. Yes, that is right folks, squash. Another great recipe in the Deceptively Delicious cookbook. I was a little concerned at first, but I thought, "hey, anything is worth a shot", and boy howdy, it was good, well, at least that is what Daddy and Soren tell me. I am going to try it now that the babe is all tucked in.
Shortly after dinner the hubs went to work and Soren and I played. Soren's new favorite place is the basement. I have placed a few toys here and there, but his love toys are detergent bottles and everything else (don't worry, all the bottle are tightly closed and washed off). Tonight he discovered an old computer mouse and then my old T-85 calculator. Wow - that was sure a blast from the past - lots of angry miles on that thing between math class and organic chemistry. He thought it was great and even more fun to put it in the washer and dryer. It is so fun to watch him play. I am almost convinced that he would be happy with about five toys from the store and then the rest of his entertainment would come from things around the house. It sort of reminds me of Ariel off the Little Mermaid - she made a folk into a comb. I wonder how creative Mr. Bean will become? Oh, Soren also made a very good attempt to say calculator - I love my little brain child (I know, I am bragging, but I allowed right!).
We polished our evening off with a warm bath, some o'so cozy PJs, milk, and an episode of This Old House - I think Norm is his favorite. Now, I am off to relax a little and maybe throw a few things together for our weekend trip to the Hills. Good night.
