My dearest boy,
While I don't usually write letters like this very often, but this month could not go without mention. Your little personality is exploding and you are learning so very much. I think you must say about a thousand words a day, many of them repeated over and over again. You love to talk and you love to learn. Right now you know all your letters and can count from one to ten in order. You forgot to add the number 6 for a couple of weeks, but I think you have it now. You are starting to learn your colors a little. So far you know that that the Sunmaid Raisin container is red and often show us things that are yellow. Deep down though I think you really like the color green - I don't know why, I just do. Mommy is trying to show you new textures, but you only like what you like. For example, you think poly-fil stuffing is designed to tickle you. You make a squishy face when you touch it and some times come right out and say "Yuck" - it is so funny. I made play-doh for you the other day and you have showed no interest, however, Daddy said you played with it once. Maybe you would like to finger paint???
Your favorite thing in the world is your blankie. Everything can come to a screaching halt if you can't find your blankie. You are my little Linus! Second in line is Mommy and Daddy. You love spending time with us - you are all giggles and smiles when we play games, wrestle, read stories, share a snack, whatever - as long as we are together. I can't help, but to think how you will react when you have a little brother or sister one day. You also love helping with the laundry and think it is extra cool when Mommy turns on the dryer with your blankie inside (for 30 seconds at least). Going bye in the car is also a favorite passtime along with visiting your friend, Lola. You are pretty much agreeable to anything except when we give you something to eat that you are not in the mood for or when you get really frustrated with a toy. You really are a good little boy.
Here are some of my personal favorites lately:
1. When you say "I lub it" while you are eating.
2. When you yell "I lub you" about ten times after we put you to bed.
3. When you imitate Mommy and Daddy.
- Usually Mommy doing the go-to-work routine - bag, kisses, and I love you
- Usually Daddy when he enters a room after his nap - "Hey guys, how ya doing"
5. When you play peek-a-boo behind a door.
6. When you high step it across the floor.
7. When you get really sweet right when are on the verge of getting a time out.
8. When you give us kisses.
9. Just you being you, but that is all the time, not just now.
Daddy and I are so excited about Christmas this year. It will be wonderful to see your face when the Christmas tree goes up, eating cookies, putting on your Christmas jammies, opening presents Christmas morning, going to Christmas service and walking across the stage with you, and just being together.
We love you so Pumpkin. I hope you always remember that.
Love, Mommy
