Soren and I had a very adult conversation last night. It all started when Zane started asking me about salaries for different public health positions and then job positions in general in relation to degrees. Well, to address Daddy's questions I decided to tell both him and Soren just what I thought. It went something like this:
Mommy: Now Soren, just because you go to school and get your Master's or your Ph.D doesn't mean you are really going to make much money.
Soren: Yep!
Mommy: And don't think you are going to make any more money if you get your Ph.D and participate in a post doctoral position.
Soren: Yep!
Mommy: People just don't want to pay you what your deserve for doing life changing research.
Soren: Yep!
I think he totally understood and is prepared to make a very wise decision when the time is right. Zane is convinced that it is the adult conversation he has been waiting for, and what a good one! :)
