After a little more deliberation, we, rather I, have reached a decision I am comfortable with in regards to the "Santa Dilemma". Our family will continue to enjoy all the Christmas season has to offer, including Santa and his elves. While I still think our culture is way out of control when it comes to holiday whimsy, it is still a fun part of the season and one that is chalk full of memories and traditions to be made.
As parents it is and will continue to be our duty to make sure that our children understand that Christmas is more than lights, santas, and presents. It is our duty to make sure that our children understand that Christ is the true reason for the season and that everything else is extra.
I know this notion of the "Santa Dilemma" seems crazy to some, but I'm glad I gave it some more thought and decided as a family what is right for us.
