A Not-So-Fancy-Schmancy Weekend, But I Love It

Our weekend was pretty simple, but I loved it.

Friday night we baby sat for some of our dear friends and Soren stayed up way too late, but that is okay, we were having fun.

Saturday morning we treated ourselves to breakfast. Seriously treated. I set up a new budget for us so we can have more going into savings, but this Saturday was one of those days that you just gotta go, and actually we only went about $6.00 over our eat-out budget - I think we can deal! When we got done, Butters and I hurried our little buns up and got ready to go to the pool (at the gym, of course - it was on 5 degree outside). We had a lot of fun, but I think we spent more time in the locker room than the pool by the time we undressed and dressed again. After the pool, we picked up my car from the windshield fixer place (dumb rocks that hit and crack your windshield - boo) and headed home to relax.

While Butters napped, I worked on my project that is taking me ever.so.long, but I am almost done and my darling husband shaped some heavy gauge wire to fit the piece - hopefully more to come on that soon (maybe with pictures). By that time, the nap was over and dinner was at hand followed by a nice bath for Soren, some play time and then beddy-bye.

Daddy and I watched "The Lovely Bones". This was absolutely heart wretching and intense - I won't be doing that again.

Sunday we went to church and had a special visit from Papaw (my dad). We played, ate lunch, played, Soren took a nap, and then Daddy, Mommy and Papaw watched Planet Earth - Caves. So beautiful! It was a great visit. I ended my day with the grocery store, dinner, play time and cleaning. Poor Daddy has been working his tail off all weekend. The first year of teaching a new class is always so time consuming, but it will be worth it in the end.

Well, I am pooped and ready to curl up in my cozy comfy bed. Night!
