Blessed Indeed

So I was looking forward to this weekend right (see post from April 15, 2011)? Well, I was with good reason. It was wonderful! Friday we did something we haven't done in a while - N.O.T.H.I.N.G! We ate dinner at home, watched Jeopardy and Wheel of Forture (always a great combo), made giant pillow forts, and after the little munchkin hit the hay, Daddy and I watched "Charlie Bartlett". Not a great movie, we gave it a 'C', but it was nice to just sit and not think about anything.

Saturday we headed to the gym and did a new workout. I should say, a new work out for me - chest and triceps and boy, am I sore today. After the gym we headed to Chick Fil-A to gain some of our lost calories back. We always have such a good time here. Who would've thunk that chicken sandwichs could be so enjoyable. Chick Fil-A has so many good things going for them. I think the only thing that could make them better is if they found a way to recycle all the waste from the food packaging then it would be nearly perfect. If I get motivated, I might write them a letter to pass on my ingenious idea - hehehe!

We finished our lunch expedition with a trip to B & N. I love this store, but according to my husband, may be I like it a little too much. He pointed out that I seem to want to buy something almost every time we come. I guess there might some truth in that and I will make some effort to curb my desires, but that would have to wait until our next trip. This time I bought a darling present for a little girl's birthday present and I bought Soren a hamster puppet for his Easter basket - it is adorable. I will post pics after Easter.

We polished off our day with more relaxing and little home improvement. We have a new light fixture INSTALLED in our basement bathroom that I have been working on for sometime. Yeah, it ended up taking much longer than it said on the box because the Nutball that originally put in the bathroom decided he would not use an outlet box like you are suppose to when installing new electrical outlets so we had to do a little more work than expected, BUT it is in!! One more piece to the puzzle is complete and I learned how to wire a light fixture (thanks hubby). Now I need to make another trip to Lowes for the other pieces, plumbing mainly.

Sunday morning we went to church and made a quick, but hefty trip to the grocery store. Can you believe the big bottle of olive oil was on sale for $12.97 - woot woot! After lunch we enjoyed naps and later had dinner. The highlight of my day was the 30-40 minutes Soren and I spent playing in our bed. We made pillow forts, pretending like we were sleeping, and I held his hand while he stood on me and acted like he was a giant yelling "Fe Fi Fo Fum". It was so fun. After we grew a little tired, we moved downstairs and made a batch of blueberry muffins (from a box, of course, and they were also on sale). Soren put all the muffin cups in each muffin tin, poured in the liquid ingredients and the flour mix. Mommy did the eggs and the blueberries, but we both stirred our little hearts out. As we were stirring, Soren kept looking up at me with a smile on his face. It was so sweet and I knew it would be moment that would be marked on my heart.

We had so much fun spending time together this weekend. My little family is such a joy to be with.

Well, I know this post is becoming rather long, but hey, this my blog so that is okay.

Have a super blessed week!
