Family Pumpkin Craving

We carved our first family pumpkin this past weekend. It was a jolly pumpkin, nice and round and orange. Now it is an extra jolly pumpkin with trianglular eyes and nose and goofy, three-teeth smile. Oh, I must not forget the great curly-cue that sits on top of his head. Cute and jolly.

It was an interesting adventure. Mama wanted a nice Martha Stewart pumpkin - clean and cut perfectly-more of a showcase. Soren wanted to draw on it with a black marker, afterall that is what Mama was doing when she was drawing circles and triangles. Good thing Daddy was around to bring Mama back to reality - "This is suppose to fun, sweetie. Not a Martha Stewart pumpkin, our pumpkin". I have to admit that his comment stung a little bit considering I try to make every moment about our family experience, not a selfish one. But I was thankful to have some one point it out so that I could get back on the family fun bandwagon again. And I did. Here are a few pictures of our time together.
