Family Christmas Trimming

Christmas decorating is a family tradition at our house. An event that is planned. We make certain that every one's schedule is set and everyone is in the Christmas spirit. We set the mood with Christmas music, the video camera, and after the big event is done and the house is aglow, we settle in for nice cup of homemade hot chocolate.

It is a simple, but big event. We enjoy lugging out of our now 9-year old tree that is becoming brittle in its old age, plugging in the lights to see if they work (for the past 2 years, including this one, one strand is having a bit of an issue being half on and half off), twirling around the tree hoping that no one gets caught in the delicate spin, unrolling the sweet strings of garland, and lastly, unveiling the treasured ornaments from years past and adding the new ones to celebrate this year. When it is all done, we have a beautiful tree to look at for this special Christmas!
