A Joyful Heart

Today was the Christmas "kids pageant" at church. A time where all the children, wee-ones and big ones, get up on the stage and share a special little piece of Christmas.

Soren is not old enough for the preschool class yet so we went on the stage together. Each family of wee-ones lines up alphabetically in the hallway and then proceeds into the sanctuary and waits for their name to be called. Soren was pretty excited about this to say the least! EVERYTIME a name was called up on stage he would clap and yell. Once our name was called he gave a big smile for the camera and we took our place on the stage. Soren continued to clap and yell for each family except this time everyone could see who this excited little boy, he was no longer some kid in the line! He kind of stole the show.

Zane and I were a little controlling a first, you know, where you tell your child "it is just like the library and we need to be quiet for a little while longer" or you try to distract him cars and such, but then we just let him go. Why not rejoice loudly for all the little families that God created! He has such a joyful, excited heart. What a shame to try and control it.
