This year we celebrated Soren's birthday with a pool party on January 15, 2012.
Our gym has a party room right next to the pool so we enjoyed a fun game of Gone Fishin', beach cupcakes complete with waves and umbrellas and ice cream, presents, and of course, lots of splishing and splashing.
On January 17, Soren's actual birthday, we kept things low key. I had to work so Soren and Daddy hung out and enjoyed the day. That evening we had dinner and then finished celebrating with cupcakes, ice cream and a balloon. This year we got Soren a small trampoline for the play room at our new house and a movie. I think the best part of his day was singing "Happy Birthday" with each of birthday candles - year 1, year 2 and year 3.
