I started my day like any other, kissed my loves on the way out the door, and drove down the street. I didn't get very far until I noticed a few kiddos with backpacks and a parent outside and then it dawned on me that today was the first day of school for some. And then it was confirmed as the giant yellow bus headed down the street. I watched as two littles crossed the street in their giant backpacks and tears started to well up in my eyes (sort of like they are doing now just thinking about it) and I guess I caught a glimpse of my future. They were so little and so cute. And I knew it wouldn't be long until my littlest love would be doing the same thing. Time goes by too fast!
While I am glad that I don't have to do the school bus thing just yet, my eyes get equally as teary thinking about the first day of preschool that is right around the corner. The backpack has already arrived at the house and Soren can't help himself, but to talk about eating lunch at school and making new friends. Sigh! (and a sniff sniff too).
