Night After Night

I love our nightly routine. After the potty, jammies, and teethbrushing comes the really good stuff.

You pick a book off the shelf that you want to read, we read page-by-page of the colorful story - words, pictures, some times things to touch and feel. The lights go out and our turtle friend comes to life shining hundreds of stars and a moon on the ceiling and walls. It's magical. Then we say our prayers. You usually insist on praying, but some times let us pray too. You usually pray for things that happened in our day and for friends and family, including the baby in Mommy's belly button. Some times we have to pray twice and just say a prayer for Jesus. Your prayers are the sweetest.

With the room dark and the stars shining down, you give Daddy a hug and kiss and then it is just you and me. When you are all comfy cozy in your blankie pile, I give you a hug and kiss, but then there is the noses, and the "um m m m" and the "doopie do". You giggle and I smile.

Lastly, we tell each other to have "sweet dreams" a hundred times and give a thousand "I love you's" and you remind me night after night that "when the sun comes up and clouds you can get out and play".

This is special to me. To Daddy. And to you. I hope we always end our nights with an "um m m m " and a "doopie do" with a thousand "I love you's".

All my love little sleeper,

Mommy
