Soren has been napping the past two days when I get home and I must say I am really missing the time I normally get to spend with him (don't get me wrong, I want him to get his sleep - it is just one of those 'oh, darn' moments). I love coming home to my two favorite guys hearing both of them say 'hi'. So to make up for time lost Soren stayed about 30 minutes extra tonight. We all took a short walk and then played with one of the neighborhood cats - Soren LOVED this - I think he is a cat person already just like Mommy and Daddy.
When we got in we played for a little while and then shimmied upstairs for a bath. Soren had a great time playing with his new wind up boat in the bath tub - he hardly complained at all when it was time to wash his hair. After the bath we conducted the routine lotion massaging, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing session and it is usually off to the favorite chair for the nightly bottle. Tonight, however, we turned up the radio listening to Raffi, opened and closed every door within eye shot, and shared lots of giggles with Mommy.
Before I knew it, it was 8:50pm and it really was time for a bottle. We headed downstairs, got a bottle, and settled in for a bedtime story. As I mentioned in a previous post, Soren has shown a little less interest in his books so I thought I would try new tactic - I started reading entire stories to him while he is guzzling his bottle - I think he really enjoyed it. I know, duh, but his usual books have a short story line to match his short attention span, but the new books have a slightly longer story line!
Looking forward to another blessed evening tomorrow and "Brother Bear" is on the list of bedtime stories. Night.
