Today was an exciting day. A day that I have been waiting for. Daddy had an all day meeting at work so Mommy needed to stay home and care for our little man. I couldn't have been more excited.
Our original plan did not work out. We were going to spend our morning at the zoo, but it rained and kept raining. Instead we got dressed, packed our day bag and headed to the library in the pouring down rain. Soren was sure to remind Mommy that we need the 'brallela. We enjoyed our time at the library. Opening secret doors with stories behind them, playing on the computer and watching videos of Curious George, but mostly, we enjoyed the trip down the orange elevator where you get to push the buttons even if the first button we hit is the "Push for Help" button and a special lady calls out to us to make sure we are not stuck in the elevator. Smile.
After the library, the clock told us it was way too early to go home so we decided to do a little shopping at the Anderson's. Mommy took the long way to the store and Soren ate crackers and drank water. Soren asked so politely "More quackers, please". This part was my favorite. Soren sat contently in the back seat eating his "quackers" and looking at everything he could see while I drove through the neighborhoods to get to a store that was really kind of out of our way.
At the store, we strolled through the produce aisles (my favorite) and sampled the yummy fruits on display. Next was the bread aisle and we sampled some bread until we finally got to the meat section. And guess what, they had samples of sausage out for display too. Before leaving, Soren requested that we stroll past the grills and I requested that we stroll through the garden center. What fun! The best part - Soren thought it was neccesary to share the water in his sippy cup with all the plants. Such a sweetheart.
At last, we made our way home for lunch. We shared some green peppers and dressing and mac and cheese. After lunch, we quickly cleaned up and headed out for one more errand before returning home to enjoy some time outside. Naps were enjoyed by Soren and Mommy - a short one for Mommy and a long one for Soren.
A perfect day.
