We had a great weekend!
All weekend, for the most part, we were crazy on home improvement. We are in the process of replacing all the interiors doors in our house. It is gonna look so nice when it is done. My hubby has to periodically test the doors by placing them back on the hinges and it is so nice to get a preview as what it is going to look like. No more brown doors. We also worked a little more on the bathroom. I removed all the plumbing, the Hubs made a few cuts on some existing plumbing and then I ripped out the vanity. It was the nasty type of work that you don't want to do, but know needs to be done. I donned by gloves and mask and then went hog wild ripping out mold-laden stuff (vanity cabinet floor, moldy drywall, and rusty screws) - YUCK. But it is so nice to know that all that stuff is out of our house. Now to clean it (more yuck) and then replace the drywall and cabinet floor - slow and steady wins the race, right!
Soren enjoyed most of this home improvement stuff too because it meant he was outside a lot. One thing I find amazing about our little man is that he had a yard full of toys to play with, but all he wants to do is dig and throw dirt. Such a little boy! Needless to say, we had a bath in the middle of the day instead of waiting until evening.
I so enjoyed having a extra day this weekend. It was nice to just be home and do home stuff instead going here and there. I also enjoy being able to celebrate living in a free country. A place where we can go outside and play and not be worried about being attacked. I am so thankful that we have men and women that sacrifice their lives and time to protect this great nation. Thank you.
On another note, here are a couple funny sayings from Soren...
At dinner Soren was eating some cheese and I was pretending that his dinosaur truck was also eating his cheese. Soren did not like that too much so he told the dinosaur truck "Stop that or you will get a time out".
I have a number of affectionate names I call Soren. So Soren has started saying to me "Hi, Sweetheart" just to name one.
