Me and My Peep

Today was a day just for me and Soren. Daddy worked all day at the house with Grandpa so, by choice, I decided to create a day of "normal".

I made french toast for Soren and bowl of cereal for myself. Once everyone was dressed, we headed to the gym. Confession - I haven't made it to the gym since December. It was almost a holy day at the gym for me. I have been nuts stressed lately and a good walk followed by some weights and a run were just what I needed. I felt like the crazy stress was just melting off. I am very thankful for this time. Now if only I could get up early enough to go before work...

After the gym (playroom for Soren), we went to Whole Foods for rice and chia seeds. You can never buy just what is on your list, but that is okay, we both had a really good time and scored some yummies. I was going to make a pit stop at Kohl's for some returns and to scan the discount rack, but time was not on my side and I wanted to keep Soren on schedule as much as possible so we made our way home for lunch. On a "normal" weekend I would consider Chick Fil-A as a lunch treat, but with all the business going on with the house, Daddy working, and Grandpa with us nearly everyday, we have been eating out WAY too much so eating at home sounded like treat!

After lunch we just played for a while - a little bit of Soren's new game, "Getcha", and trains, and pretend sleep and wake up, and whatever else sounded like fun. I also made a little time to unload some of the stuff in Soren's closet so I could pack it while he was sleeping. Soren enjoyed playing quietly during this. He is so imaginative and loves playing with this train (almost so much that nobody else can touch it unless he says it is okay). Before nap, we watched Thomas the Train (this was really a surprise because usually it is Curious George - he's adding a little culture into his life).

Mommy spent nap time packing, cleaning, and making food - chicken curry with rice and homemade carrot muffins (not to be eaten together of course). The carrot muffins are so yummy, but so healthy. Carrots, apples, raisins, walnuts, wheat flour, and chia seeds. I think I really like the chia seeds. They are very healthy, go with everything, and give you that little bit of extra chew like a poppy seed, but don't really have any flavor.

Now here I am. Watching the hubby play a video game and typing this post. No pics, but at least I have remembered to post.

It was GREAT day with my little peep!
