Having children makes each and every holiday a little more fun and little more cherishable!
For Valentine's Day this year, I made heart garland out of some extra scrapbook paper I had. I was going to sew each paper heart together, but the sewing machine is packed and I just didn't have the time to sew about 40 paper hearts together by hand so I improvised and brought out the trusty stapler. I don't have any pictures to share (not yet anyway), but it turned out really cute. I adorned the front windows and the sliding door in the back house with garland. I had a three hearts left over so I made tiny heart arrangement and put it on Soren's bedroom door right at his eye level. He loved it!
The day was low key - work for me and my hubby, but when I got home I had a beautiful bouquet of yellow roses on the table with a very appropriate Valentine card from my Love. After dinner (mac and cheese and broccoli - a favorite for Soren) we headed over to Jeni's for a yummy sundae. It was yummy indeed, but oh so BIG! My heavens it was B.I.G.
It was bedtime for little bit when we got home and after Soren was snug in his bed, I shared a Valentine surprise with my Love. A delicious plate of cheeses, fancy crackers, a bottle of wine, and maple bourbon pecans. And don't forget the little Valentine messages on toothpicks! All this goodness was loved by each, but will be enjoyed another night when we don't feel like a frozen rolly polly!
Happy Valentines's Day!
